Review of Scrubbabody Body Scrubs

Having recently completed year 12 and been on a 3 month holiday I haven't had much time to focus on my skin. My skin became really dry, especially since it is Summer here in Australia, and this dryness became really concerning to me. I was looking for products to help soothen and soften my skin and came across Scrubba Body, a highly reputable, Australian company focused on delivering handmade body scrubs, goats milk and soy candles. I was extremely lucky to be sent two of their best selling body scrubs to try and review.

The first thing you notice when you get your Scrubba Body body scrub is how minimal and adorable the packaging is. The pack also comes with a cute little spoon, which is handy when applying the scrub. The body scrub is placed inside a black bag with a white "dripped look" sign that says Scrubba Body and a coloured label which is specific to the different flavour. Each of the body scrub flavours have different benefits to best suit different skin types and more information about them can be found here

About Scrubba Body

Scrubba Body started out from us looking for an affordable, natural & cruelty free product we could use to help exfoliate and also help out with psoriasis. After a lot of investigating and experimentation, our Coffee Scrubs and Goats Milk Soaps were born.
But why stop there? After the research we did, we discovered how amazing essential oils were and looked in to how else we could use them. And that is where our awesome new products came from.
We're based out of Newcastle in New South Wales where we were born & raised. We love this town & everything about it.

The Body Scrubs

I was lucky to receive the coconut and peppermint body scrubs. When I opened the package the wonderful smell of them instantly attracted me to them. Both of these scrubs have different benefits and I will discuss them in more detail below:

1) Coconut Body Scrub

Our biggest seller for a reason, our Coconut scrub smells like the 2 best things in the world... coffee & summer! Not only that, it helps your skin look & feel ready for summer by helping with the following;

Review
When I first opened this scrub I was drawn to that fresh smell of coffee mixed with salt (which really does smell like coffee and summer). I could not wait to try it on, so I immediately ran into the shower and tried it. After applying the scrub all over, waiting 10 minutes and rinsing it off, I was astounded by how soft my skin had gotten in a matter of just few minutes. This scrub has fresh and natural ingredients which can be seen from the eye as it is applied.

This coconut body scrub also has many benefits including moisturising the skin and targeting infections with anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. The scrub is not harsh on the skin, therefore it is suitable to be used 2-3 times a week. I recommend using a facial toner and moisturiser after using the scrub to maintain skin softness.

Ingredients

Ground arabica coffee beans, raw sugar, almond oil, coconut oil, salt, cinnamon, shredded coconut,  fragrance.

2) Peppermint Body Scrub

Look and feel minty fresh with our Peppermint scrub, which will not only leave you feeling fresh & awake, it also helps out with the following;
  • Fights infections & soothes muscle pain
  • Cooling effect & brightens up dull skin

Review
After trying the coffee scrub and loving how soft my skin turned out, I wanted to try the peppermint scrub as soon as I could. When I applied this all over my body, and waited around 5 minutes I was immediately taken away by how refreshing it felt. After taking the scrub off, I was left with more soft skin that was glowing.

The peppermint scrub has very similar ingredients to the coconut scrub. These ingredients are also visible from the eye as the scrub is being applied. I recommend using this scrub about 2 times a week just because the coolness of the peppermint may become harsh on sensitive skin.

Ingredients

Ground arabica coffee beans, raw sugar, almond oil, coconut oil, salt, cinnamon, peppermint oil
